MiFi: 3UK will launch a Mobile Wi-Fi service

3UK is to launch a new Mobile Wi-Fi service called MiFi and will be launched in time for Christmas. The new service will allow you to use the Wi-Fi wherever you can gain access to the 3 network in the UK, with the aid of a small wireless modem.

According to IntoMobile, the small device will send out a Wi-Fi signal, this will allow you to connect to a number of Wi-Fi enabled devices and gain access to the Internet. MiFi means that you will not have to have a fixed line to gain access to the Internet; all you need is 3G coverage on 3UK.

The small wireless modem looks a little like a mobile phone, measuring just 86 x 45 x 10 mm. You can connect more than one device at a time with the device, allowing you to check your emails while downloads music from iTunes.

The new device is very easy to set up and is great for both consumers and business use. The new mobile Wi-Fi service is going to change how people connect to the net while on the move and is the biggest thing since the arrival of the USB dongle.
