An interesting article has shown up on Pocket-Lint looking into Sat Nav solutions for your iPhone, and generally looking into whether these solutions can ultimately replace Satellite Navigation devices in the future. Lets face it what’s the point of buying a separate Sat Nav if your iPhone does the job just as well.
There are seven different solutions that the article look into, they are TomTom Car Kit, CoPilot Live for iPhone, Navigon MobileNavigator, Sygic, B.iCyle, Google Maps and Compass.
The TomTom Car Kit is rumored to be costing £114 when it is released later this year, it will be a kit which includes a dock, charger, loudspeaker and GPS signal booster. CoPilot Live for iPhone is available for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, you can buy it outright for £25.99 for UK and Ireland maps or £59.99 for European maps, it includes all functions you would expect from a Sat Nav system, such as speed limit alerts and and turn by turn voice directions.
To see a detailed look into the other options along with a more detailed look into the previously mentioned options check out Pocket-Lint’s article.
