Apple’s Tablet: Predictions

According to an article on MacRumors and also on BrainStorm Tech it seems that experts are beginning to forecast what income the Apple Tablet will bring Apple. Obviously these forecasts are completely prediction based on some hard evidence and some educated guesses.

An article by Piper Jaffray senior analyst Gene Munster suggests that if Apple sell the Apple Tablet at $600 they could sell 2 million units in 2010. If this figure is met it would add a 3 percent increase to Apple’s revenue.

Here is a quick summary of what he feels the Apple Tablet will consist of, it will be similar to the iPod Touch with a larger display, it will be capable of running most of the iPhone App Store applications, however will include an Apple Tablet section.

He also believes its primary usages will be Web surfing, emailing, viewing videos and pictures and listening to music, obviously this is direct competition with netbooks which offer a very similar range of functionality.

Would you pay $600 for an Apple Tablet?

Will it include remote desktop functionality to XP and or servers or BootCamp stuff?

There has been very little information released, as with all Apple products they keep it all quiet, I would doubt that BootCamp will be an option due to the extremely unique hardware/software the Tablet will offer. As for remote desktop no official word on that either but I would imagine so.
