If you can afford both the Nintendo Wii and the price of the games, then you will not find a better games console for you in today’s market, but if you find the price of games high then we have an alternative for you.
This is the Zone 40 wireless gaming console, which looks like the Wii but is much more focused on those that like budget gaming. The mini console includes 40 built-in games – hence the name – and comes with controllers.
Currently the Zone 40 is mostly sold in the UK, and designed for 2 players aged 8 years and over. So remember this Christmas, the Zone 40 will give “fun for the entire family” at a much lower price (around £25/$40).

NICE TRY WITH THE WII KNOCK OFF, ENJOY UR INTELLECTUALL PROPERTY INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT!
you are a total pr**k i got 3 kids and cant go out and buy 3 wii’s but maybe you will buy me 3 will you
You don’t need 3 Wiis for 3 kids. You have it hooked up in the TV room so anyone can play. 1 Wii is not expensive.
You don’t have money for 3 Wiis, but you could buy 3 TVs to hook up three crappy games to? (Wait, how do you even have money to afford the care and feeding of 3 kids? Condoms cost like $0.50 each, tops, you know.) Your kids hate you, you know. They don’t tell you to your face, but they secretly hate you for buying really shoddy Chinese knockoff games. They’re also upset by you buying them “FroutLoups Cereal” for breakfast, along with “malk” to pour on them. And they really hate their Addydas shoes with the soles that keep peeling off. Also, you’re not doing yourself any favours with that “Rollex” watch your wearing that’s always 5 minutes slow.
There is no need to write all that extra garbage for a simple comment. If you do not like the game system that is okay. if you want to give people advise not to buy the system, that is good. but to go from that to “your children hate you, they don’t tell you to your face, but they hate you.” Common! be constructive, not destructive. With the economy, everybody is looking at their finances a little closer. No matter if one has money or no money. If the system is that crappy, then educate those of us that are not familiar with the system. Thanks that would be much more appreciated.
Wow, I can’t imagine how crappy your life must be for you to come on a site to review a product and verbally assualt someone for doing THEIR best for THEIR family. You’re right, condoms AREN’T expensive…might want to mention that to your folks!!! They should have used them.
i soooo can’t beliez u guys are gonna try and match up with the wii! u can’t play games on a disk, u can’t get online, and u can’t even download MORE GAMES!!! u lozers have fun while ya’ll are in the hospital cuz ya’lls butts have been sued off by the almighty nintendo corporation! –nintendo forever, texas
it maybe a good thing for families that can’t afford the games and a good gaming system for their kids especially with the economy. Atleast these kids will have something and not feel like they have nothing when the other kids do. obviously you didn’t grow up in a family that struggled!! If you have such a problem and have money why don’t you find struggling families that parents lost their jobs and donate a system to them!your the people that don;t give 2 craps about people and their hard ships. So why don;t you get off your F’N high horse and do something constructive!!! All I see is a looser and it’s really actually funny!
well said
very, very, well said. Thanks for going to bat for the rest of us. I am here because thinking of getting this console for my family for Christmas, they wanted a wii but WE can`t aford it this year in the mean time I thought this would at least do them untill next Christmas in hopes that the economy will be better. If so we will donate this system to another Family. question though, what games are are built into the system ?
The reason Wii’s are so expensive in the first place is because people like you buy them and think there should be no competition to bring the price down. This is AMerica… it used to mean free to be competitive. But big corporations bought out everyone; choice is disappearing. Is that what you want?
Dear Lauren,
You are a high quality, number 1, grade A+ jack ass. I say this for a few reasons. 1) Not everybody cares that much about “gaming systems” like you seem to. It is a game…who cares. It keeps me, the wife, and the kids occupied for a few hours when it is raining outside, or whatever the reason may be. Nobody needs to be on these stupid games very long in the first place.
2) Nobody is bringing a lawsuit you know-nothing-piece of crap. There are no viable basis for lawsuits here. This has been happening for the past, well, forever. Somebody invents something, or has an idea on how to improve something and come out with a new product. Then people say “WOW! I like this!” and others duplicate it. Just take your precious Nintendo. Atari had a game that involved a joystick, then someone invented a hand held control with buttons…no not nintendo…Magnavox! Nintendo didn’t have this until over 10 years later.
3) Not everyone can have their daddy buy crap for them. Some of us actually have to work for money. Some of us harder than others. I have a feeling you are either one of the daddies girls (who get everything ever) or one of the others. Either way you are a jackass, so just shut the hell up you snot-nosed brat and let people be happy. Thank you.

nice one couldn’t have put it any better myself-respect
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!! you people make me laugh. You are on a website that shows a new product which is a cheap alternative to one of the cheapest next-gen gaming consoles ($149 now) and all you can seem to do is verbally attack each other? Truly remarkable. Growing up, I had a Sega Genesis. Was I happy with it? No. But that was when technology sucked. Now-a-days it’s all dual-cores and 16gb ram with a 1tb hard drive. If you really want to get your kids something nice and good for the holidays, get them something to increase their IQs not drop them down with the rest of the world. Books. Fiction, fantasy, romance, non-fiction, math related, history related. who cares. All in for a more intelligent and educated world where everyone doesn’t go around “blaming” each other and starting “flame wars” and are productive members of society, SAY I! (Indigo for life)
Hi,
Got one of these for my son, cannot get him of the thing now, very cheaply priced and excellent value. It does not come with an mains adapter which is the problem, but Maplin sell compatable ones at £5, I managed to get a free one at busyuk.co.uk
Regards
Sean
ive got a zone 40 there not as the nintendo wii but myself i think they have done a good job at trying to clone it but it but would be better if u cud download more games
you guys are dumb… at the end of the day you have coke and pepsi… it is what it is.. their both cola…zone 40 and wii are both just gaming systems…and for 40 bucks who cares! its all for fun anyway..I own a wii its cool, but i think the zone 40 is alright to!
There is a cool video review of it, although the reviewer doesn’t seem to like it, some of the darn games look good (especially the sword master game where you kill zombies) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4V5Y2MYF1QQ
It’s like the ghetto version of the Wii. Somewhere out there is some really, really disappointed black kid opening up this piece of crap as a birthday gift. He’s going to be so upset by this hunk of junk he’ll no doubt turn to a life of selling drugs so he can afford a real game.
How did THIS turn into a racial conversation? Some people only have one thing on thier mind……
I did a lot of web searching for information and reviews on the Zone 40. Originally we saw the first version of this that only comes with like 7 games and is a much more ‘cheap’ feeling version for $40. Good thing we didn’t buy that one, because upon research we found out about this Zone 40 version that has 40 games.
I understand why some people might say this console is not worth the buy, but being one that doesn’t just have $199.99 on hand for a normal Wii (not to mention Wii games costs anywhere from around $19.99 to $49.99 a PIECE) I think this was a decent way to experience Wii-like games and movements.
I’m going to just take a stab in the dark and say that since this is a cheaply made gaming system, some people complaining of glitches may just have a faulty device. We bought ours from CVS which you can return items for full refunds to. We figured if this device was glitchy and awful we’d just get our money back.
Surprisingly enough we had quite a bit of fun playing all the 2 player interactive games and there are even a few 2 player arcade games as well. Also to top that off, there are a few of those arcade games that are interactive as well.
So yes this Wii knock off is not 100% interactive on all 40 games, but a good half of them do require controller movements. The graphics themselves don’t move as ’smoothly’ as the Wii does, but I did find myself physically moving all the same as I did playing the Wii at friends house and demos at electronic stores. I still have to swing and swivel for it, it just kind of flows that way even if you don’t technically HAVE to do so for the sensor to sense your movements.
All in all if you are just wanting physically interactive fun with a Wii similarity, your $40 might not be so wasted. It does come with a full 40 games (and yes, like 5 are track games with different yard lines) but that still is like 35 games more than any Wii will come with. It keeps you entertained for a good while and fun for the family.
Downfalls? Only that there won’t be any way to get more games for this console (it will personally take me a while to get bored of 40 games anyway), only 2 player maximum and this did not come with an AC adapter but it works off batteries if you don’t have a universal adapter laying around (luckily I did). But at least it came with the ability to do that and not have to rely on batteries for it. It works without batteries if you have an adapter for it.
By the time I’m bored of al $40 games I’d honestly probably have my $40 worth anyway, and can try to find something else along the lines of this. You just have to go into it thinking that it’s not 100% modern technology, the graphics are a step back but you still get a decent Wii-like experience. I didn’t feel like I wasted my money.
And my device did not have any glitches, everything worked perfectly!
Oh and one last note to my review as if I haven’t said enough, the majority if not all of the ‘arcade’ games are knock offs of old Atari and Arcade games. I personally found this a bit fun to go back to the past and play games I haven’t gotten to play since I was younger, and not to mention the few racing and fighting games. You can’t really complain about it. It’s $40 which is really cheap, so you get cheap with it. But if you’re in the same position as me (not a lot of money to spend on expensive gaming) you appreciate things like this. Even if it is knock off versions of other games.
The graphics for the Wii were a step back so this thing must be terrible. Didn’t waste my money on the Wii and found this thing to be pretty laughable. But, if I was a kid in Obamas economy I would take whatever I could get.
Obama’s economy that he inherited from 8 years of Bush + 20 years of Republican congress. Stock market is up 2,000 points since Inauguration day.
