With the current trend of auto sales falling sharply, its good to see an increase in sales of the 2009 Honda Civic, even if the “Cash for Clunkers” program is the reason for the sales increase.
The overall U.S. sales for Honda Motor Co. fell 17.3% in July when compared to the same month in 2008, but sales of the Honda Civic and CR-V increased in July thanks to the Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS).
Honda CR-V sales rose by 10% (19,151) in July, and Honda Civic sales increased by 3.1% (30,037). Other models from the brand dropped in sales, this included a drop of 32.5% for Honda’s high-end Acura. Head over to freep.com for more details on Honda’s July sales.
As reported in another post on the Cash for Clunkers top ten purchased cars, you may have noticed that the Honda Civic was the third most purchased vehicle through the Clunkers program. Only beaten by the Toyota Corolla and Ford Focus.
