T-Mobile buying unlocked iPhone 3G devices

Following our recent post regarding O2’s end of exclusivity on some iPhone handsets, it now seems that T-Mobile UK have started to offer some of its customers the iPhone 3G, currently the source of this information is Telegraph.co.uk, as we find out more we will keep you posted.

According to the article it seems that T-Mobile have been buying unlocked iPhone 3G handsets, this is an attempt to keep long-standing customers who wish to leave T-Mobile for O2, because they want an iPhone. T-Mobile has declined to comment on the matter, which in my opinion suggests that there may be some truth to the accusation.

Unlocked iPhone 3G 16GB models currently sell on Play.com for £589.99, because of this price tag it is rumored that T-Mobile only offer these handsets to customers spending at least £70 a month.
