Der Riese Map Pack 3: Pack a punch machine and weapons
By: Alan Ng | August 7, 2009 | 45 CommentsSo guys, are you enjoying Map Pack 3 so far? It was released yesterday onto the Xbox Live MarketPlace and Playstation Store and ‘should’ now be available in all regions. Without a doubt, the highlight of the new Der Riese zombie map, has to be the Pack-a-Punch machine, which lets you throw in a weapon (for a price) in return for a beefed up upgraded weapon.
Its all about teamwork in getting those 3 teleporters linked up, if you want to be able to use the machine. Preferably, you’ll want to do it as soon as possible too, as Der Riese is a much harder map and starts to get ‘tasty’ after round 10 or so.
Assuming that you have the Pack-a-Punch machine available at your disposal and 5000 points to spend, here is a full list of all the possible outcomes for your weapons:
30 Cal => B115 accelerator
BAR => The Widow Maker
Colt 45 => C-3000 b1at-ch35
Shotgun Double Barreled => 24 Bore long range
Shotgun Double Barreled Sawed Grip => The Snuff Box
FG42 => 420 Impeller
Gewehr43 = > G115 Compressor
M1A1 Carbine => Widdershins RC-1
M1Garand => M1000
MG42 => Barracuda FU-A11
MP40 => The Afterburner
.357 Magnum => .357 Plus 1 K1L-u
PPSh-41 => The Reaper
Shotgun => Gut Shot
STG-44 => Spatz-447 +
Thompson => Gibs-o-matic
Type 100 => 1001 Samurais
Type 99 => The Eviscerator
Panzerschrek => Longinus
PTRS-41 => The Penetrator
M7 Launcher => The Imploder
Kar98k => Armageddon
Ray Gun => Porter’s X2 Ray Gun
Wunderwaffe DG-2 => Wunderwaffe DG-3 JZ
M2 Flamethrower => FIW Nitrogen cooled
Now I only managed to have a few rounds on the game yesterday, but I did manage to upgrade the PPSh-41, Trench Gun and Ray Gun. From what i can see, the effects are pretty cool. PPSh-41 becomes ‘The Reaper’ and comes with a 700 clip, double tap and extra damage. I’m not too sure about the Trench Gun, but the upgraded Ray Gun now shoots red bullets rather than green, has an upgraded clip and more damage. It is also supposed to remove splash damage too, meaning that you can shoot close range without getting hit, but I’ve yet to confirm this.
Are you having fun with the Pack-a-Punch Machine? Let us know your experiences with it so far and even better, list the weapons you have upgraded and let us know it’s new features. I spilt the beans with the upgraded PPSh-41, so it’s only fair! See you in-game.
