Sony Memory Stick XC: Specs finalized, up to 2TB
By: Peter Chubb | August 6, 2009 | Leave a CommentSony has now finalized its plans for their new Memory Stick XC, the specs of this memory card are truly amazing, one of which is that the new card will have a capacity up to 2TB. We have known for some time about the new memory card, as it was on show way back in January at CES 2009.
Sony Insider has reported that more details have now appeared on Sony’s oss-formats.org website. The details show that the form factor is the same as pre-existing memory sticks; this means that the new Sony Memory Stick XC will be backwards compatible.
Sony Insider have said that the reports of the up to 2TB storage will not be made available until next year, but this is very unlikely and could still be years away. The first Sony Memory Stick XC to be released will be 64GB, 128GB and so on, working its way up to 2TB in time.
