PS3 Slim: Just waiting on an official statement
By: Peter Chubb | August 6, 2009 | 1 CommentWith all the rumors going around of a new Sony PS3 Slim, it certainly seems like one is coming, the only thing that we need now is an official statement from Sony themselves. Ars Technica have been informing their readers that their favorite source has been laying down its timeline for the new system.
It seems like more rumors of the PS3 Slim are now becoming true, as a new batch of evidence has now begun to surface. There has been a note leaked on the Internet from a Japanese retailer, it shows that there will no longer be any more 80GB PlayStation 3’s available from Sony after August 9.
This means that Japan will no longer have any PS3 models available to them, as they do not sell the 160GB version. This should then pave the way for a whole batch of new models, including the PS3 Slim. There are also rumors that the 160GB versions on Amazon will see a price cut of around $50.
We recently reported that the price of the new Sony PS3 Slim will start at £260.
