As reported from ComputerWorld, the new platform will be known as the ION LE and will be aimed towards netbooks and net-top PCs that run Windows XP. The ION LE is based on the same technology which features a Nvidia 9400M mobile graphics chip usually combined with an Intel Atom CPU.
Main differences in the new platform include support for Windows XP DirectX 9 graphics, which will offer a much better multimedia performance than Vista’s DirectX 11 or even Windows 7′s DirectX 12.
