According to a report on MacRumors it seems that Apple executives are heading to Beijing to have talks with China Unicom to secure a deal to launch the iPhone in China. The Apple executives are headed by Greg Joswiak who is the vice president of iPod and iPhone Product Marketing
Until a deal is reached it is hard to say exactly when the iPhone will be released in China, however following the recent news of a China-specific iPhone I wouldn’t have thought a deal is that far away. It is thought that this meeting between Apple and China Unicom is probably for the finalization of the deal.
As more details emerge regarding the deal we will keep you posted. Check out MacRumors for the full article.
