Windows Mobile 7: Early Rumor

After yesterday seeing an apparently final build of Windows Mobile 6.5 aka Windows Phone in action quite a few details leaked regarding version 7, this version looks like a complete re-write of Windows Mobile which has been highly anticipated for a while now.

One disappointing thing regarding Windows Mobile 6.5 is the fact that it doesn’t support multitouch gestures, however yesterdays video revealed that version 7 will “exploit the hardware” and “introduce multitouch,”. When Windows mobile does begin to support multitouch it will become a real competitor to webOS, Android and iPhone.

Currently there are no set in stone release dates for Windows Mobile 6.5 let along Windows Mobile 7, as more details emerge we will keep you posted, check out Engadget for the original article.

They need to have the OS (WM7) be touch screen only ready. Get rid of the small on screen button and replace with larger finger friendly interface.

That is why the iPhones (and other phones) are doing so much better.

I will guess that after the release of Windows Mobile 7 , it will take two major service packs before it actually works. Of course by that time there will have been many new devices out there for Android and iPhone. MS will have to move a lot quicker!
