Palm Pre becomes a 3G WiFi router

Buzz This

The Palm Pre has now gained another use; this is thanks to “My Tether,” a new WebOS application. This now means that the Pre has now become a 3G WiFi router, allowing you to connect your notebook or netbook to the Internet with the use of your handset.

According to IntoMobile, My Tether works much like Novatel’s MiFi 3G WiFi router does and how the Apple iPhone tether will work once it is made available. The new My Tether app will provide an interface that allows you to broadcast your very own Wi-Fi network with your Palm Pre.

There is one problem though; this latest app will not be available through the App Catalog. If you wish to have the app, then you will have to hack your Palm Pre, please remember if you do jailbreak your Palm Pre, then you void your warranty and you could also have a number of issues with the handset. Be warned.
