With the release of the Nikon D300s expected at the end of the month Nikon decided to send some professional photographers a D300s each to show the true capabilities of the camera. They sent Ami Vitale and Robert Bösch a D300s, Ami is a well known photojournalist and Robert is a sports photographer.
You can see one of the captured videos below, however if you head over to Engadget you can see another video and a still captured by the camera. The D300s has the same still photography capabilities as its predecessor the D300, however it can now capture HD video.
The videos look extremely clear; the only imperfection is some rolling shutter at the beginning of Robert’s video. What results an amateur photographer will get is hard to say but at least the hardware is proven to result in some good looking video.
Are you impressed by the Nikon D300s DSLR’s video capture?

Of course, there’s no telling how much post-production work went into these pieces, and let’s not forget these are pros in their element — average Joe isn’t gonna be able to pick up this camera and produce the same results. Footage after the break, or hit up the read link to see all the impressions and sample works.
