When details first started to emerge for the Nikon Coolpix S1000pj, I must admit I thought they were more of a future concept than reality, however a new article has emerged on Engadget which starts to list definite hardware within the camera/projector along with a rough release date.
The Nikon Coolpix S1000pj will have a 12.1 megapixel sensor with a 5X wide-angle zoom lens, with five way VR image stabilization. It will also have an LED projector which will project a screen size of about 40 inches, this projector will play slide-shows complete with music, effects and transitions.
For all of this functionality you will have to pay £430 when it is released in September, whilst this price does seem a bit high it may pave the way for more camera/projectors to be released therefore cheaper alternatives will probably follow.
If you check out Engadget there is a full detailed insight into the Coolpix S1000pj, along with a gallery of images and a promotional video.
