Mobile WiMAX in 2014

Clearwater and its parent company Sprint, have some great news, Juniper Research has now issued a recent study that Mobile WiMAX revenue will reach $15 billion by 2014. This revenue increase is based on the fact that mobile WiMAX subscribers would rise to at least 50 million.

It is expected that mobile WiMAX will replace DSL and satellite internet services; this is something that is needed in rural areas where they have yet to get a DSL connection. WiMax could have a struggle on its hands when the LTE networks from wireless carriers take of around the world.

Clearwater still has a way to go though, as they have only opened up the service in a handful of markets. They will have to move fast as Verizon has already started to increase its efforts with LTE; it is thought that LTE could be in place as early as Q1 in 2010.
