Dell have announced that their already powerful Precision M6400 mobile workstations will now have an ATI FirePro M7740 graphics processor. The official announcement of the new chips is expected later today.
Like the rest of the FirePro range it offers 1GB of DDR5 frame buffer memory, 30-bit DisplayPort and dual-link DVI output. Previous versions of the Precision M6400 used the NVIDIA Quadro FX 2700M, 512MB graphics processor.
Currently there are no fully detailed specifications, nor are there any definite prices or release dates, as more details emerge we will keep you posted. Checkout Engadget for the original article.
Do you think the performance difference between the Quadro and FirePro versions is going to be hugely noticeable?
