June was a great month for Chevy, as they sold more Camaros than Ford did with its Mustang. AutoBlog have noted that this trend will continue for some time yet, as general Motors have a backlog of 10,000 sold orders that they have to fill.
Chevrolet have sold around 2,200 less Camaros in July than they did in June, it seems that the recent Cash for Clunkers program have ruined things a little for GM. Ford sold just 1,000 less Mustangs in July than they did in June, showing that sales looks to be stabilizing more.
AutoBlog have been looking at why the Camaro is selling more than the Mustang, the answer is simple, the Chevy vehicle is newer. Once all of the backlog orders have been fulfilled, we should see the Mustang start to outsell the Camaro once again.
