Apple iPhone: Netflix Video Streaming On Way
By: Peter Chubb | August 4, 2009 | Leave a CommentThere was a recent report from Multichannel News that Netflix video streaming is coming to the Apple iPhone. The “Watch Instantly” feature is available for the Mac and PC, users who are on an unlimited plan can gain access to this service, such as Xbox 360 users.
iPhone users can gain access to YouTube through a wireless connection or through their cellular network, other application such as SlingPlayer Mobile only allow you to stream videos through Wi-Fi. The report notes that the Netflix app could also have the same restriction, as to not over-tax the data network.
It is not just Apple iPhone users that will gain access to Netflix video streaming, there are also reports that the Nintendo Wii is to also get this service. There has been no official word from Apple yet; Netflix has also failed to comment on these recent reports.
