Gran Turismo 5 Release Date Rumor

We have heard some interesting news in regard to the release date for the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 on the Playstation 3. Turns out that the expected December 29th 2009 date is ‘incorrect’ and that fans can expect to see the game released much sooner.
Thats according to GTPlanet, who have learned the release date for the game through a trusty source. Since Sony has yet to announce any dates, GTPlanet are remaining quiet on the date, but have said that all will be revealed at GamesCom during Sony’s press conference on August 18th.
So its good news right? We don’t know the exact date, but we now know its sooner than December 29th. Let us know your thoughts on the news.

I WILL BE GETTING BOTH FORZA 3 AND GT5 MAINLY BECAUSE I LOVED FORZA 2 I PLAYED IT EVERY MINUTE OF MY SPARE TIME AND WAS RANKED IN THE TOP 50 IN THE WORLD. I WANNA GET GT5 AS IF IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ITS GOING TO DO EVERY OTHER RACING GAME EVER MADE WON’T EVEN BE WORTH TURNING ON
ANYWAY ENOUGH OF ALL THAT GOTO GAME.CO.UK AND IT RECKONS AS OF TODAY THERE IS 50 DAYS TILL GT5′S RELEASE
No doubt it will be a bundled title with the new $299 120GB PS3 Slim!!!! There’s so many rumours about the PS3 lately I don’t believe anything until I hear it from the horses mouth (or the US or EU blog!).
The date would bound to be pre christmas probably start of december otherwise they would lose the lucrative pre christmas sales
I pretty sure they will not miss out on any sales no matter when they release the game.. this is a one of a kind game and will definitely without a doubt be number 1 in sales and most likely the game of the year

I have checked with the staff in store and they confirmed it. This means that all the marketing is being put in place and that the release date can only be changed by a week or so.

I’m hoping this article is right, however when you go to the gamestop website, it says the date is 2/2/10.
How long does it take to release a game!!!!! I’ve been playing GT4 since my daughter was born and she’s in school now..
They need to extract the digit and release it. I only bought the PS3 to play GT5.

Plus I read (context below) that the Top Gear test track is going to be a playable track I sourced this from a website but cant find it now otherwise i would supply the link. This is what they had to say in a interview with Polyphony.
“We at Polyphony are great fans of the world’s best motoring programme, Top Gear, so we’re delighted to be collaborating with BBC Worldwide to deliver Top Gear content via Gran Turismo,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, President, Polyphony Digital, “We’re sure that players will be as thrilled as we are when they get the chance to put their own driving skills to the test on the Top Gear Test Track in GT5, as well as enjoying classic episodes of Top Gear via GT TV.”
This means that you can go round the track going power every so often in a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes Benz, Lotus, Ford, Nissan etc…
Just another reason why to get Gran Turismo 5.
