It seems that “The Always Innovating Touch Book” is now being shipped, this news emerged following customers who pre-ordered the netbook/tablet receiving a confirmation of shipping email. That said the companies website does state that it may take several weeks to fulfil all of the pre-orders.
The Touch Book combines the functionality of a netbook with some of the functionality of a tablet, this results in you having a touch screen netbook. It boasts a 8.9 inch touchscreen which supports a resolution of 1024 x 600, it has a TI OMAP3530 processor, it has 512MB memory which is split between RAM and NAND, and has 8GB of storage, also the Touch Book has Bluetooth and a USB WiFi adapter.

I’ve had one of those HP swivel touch screen laptops for about a year now, I’m surprised there aren’t more of them already actually.
I’ve pre-ordered one but haven’t had a confirmation email yet. They did notify me to say that processing of all pre-orders will take awhile and the confirmation email is only sent out just prior to shipping (they also process the credit card at that time). I’ve being a bit dissapointed with the feedback from AI during this period, I would have thought by now they would have a fourm on their web site or at least a blog to keep everyone up to date or a weekly email about progress (”you are in queue position 999999″ sort of thing), it would also be interesting to know the progress that is being made with the Beta software.
I pre-ordered also, but haven’t heard a peep from them yet. I know they have a big backlog, but supposedly they started shipping more than a week ago — quite a few people should have gotten them by now. Has *anybody* actually recieved one of these yet?? I’ll be really disappointed if this turns out to be vaporware.
