Windows 7: Activation Crack

Windows 7: Activation Crack

By: Jamie Pert | July 31, 2009 | Leave a Comment

It seems that pirates have cracked Windows 7 product activation, this occurs just one week after the RTM had been completed, and just one week before Windows 7 officially reaches Technet and MSDN subscribers.

Most major computer manufacturers like Dell, HP and Lenovo are allowed to pre-activate their new PC’s, this is where the activation crack emerged apparently “a Lenovo disk image of Windows 7 leaked to a Chinese Web site, then moved to English-language domains. Pirates proceeded to retrieve the master OEM key and the OEM activation certificate from the .iso file”.

According to the report it seems that the activation crack requires more work than a lot of previous OS’s activation cracks, it seems that the PC’s BIOS will also need to be cracked, probably over time pirates will develop a much more automated cracking method.
