Spotify for iPhone: First impressions are good
By: Alan Ng | July 31, 2009 | Leave a CommentThe new Spotify app for the Apple iPhone is patiently awaiting approval from Apple for their App store, but we can tell you that initial impressions for the music streaming app are extremely good.
As reported from Mobile-Ent, the app has been tested by a number a sources, and all outcomes have been very positive. Spotify for the iPhone is essentially a portable version of the popular PC software and will allow users to stream music on the go.
The only downside to this, is that customers will need to sign up to Spotify’s premium service which will cost you £10 ($17) per month. What you do get though, is the ability to save any playlists on your phone, allowing you to listen to tracks even when you dont have an internet connection.
Judging by first impressions, the sound quality of the tracks is very good and around 3,333 songs can be cached on the iPhone.
Spotify’s creators are now left waiting to see if Apple approves the app or not. They could decide that the Spotify app is simply too much competition for them.
