An article has emerged on IntoMobile, in this article it discusses the top 5 pros and top 5 cons with Nokia’s latest handset the Nokia N97, obviously the big question with the handset would be whether the handsets OS could deliver what all the high end hardware has the potential to offer.
The pros according to the report on IntoMobile included, that its form factor is great and the combination of having a full touch screen display and a full QWERTY keyboard is great. The Carl Zeiss optics powered camera is said to leave its Windows Mobile competition behind. The customizable home screen allows a user create a unique easy to use and efficient interface. The Nokia N97’s overall multimedia performance is said to be very good. Finally the pre-installed applications on the handset allow a great deal of different functionality.
The cons seem to be that the keyboard design doesn’t allow as seamless usage as other competing full QWERTY keyboards, also the camera although it is great it still takes the same 5 megapixel photos which the N95 offered in 2007. Performance wise a combination of the CPU, RAM and OS seem to make the Operating System sluggish, especially when compared to some other competing handsets. Another complainT is just the general functionality of the Symbian OS it just doesn’t offer as much of an enjoyable experience as webOS, Android and Apple OS 3.0. The final problem IntoMobile with the Ovi Store read the full article for full details.
While creating this post I thought I would ask my friend what he thought of his Nokia 97 (he previously had a Nokia N95), his only complaint was that he couldn’t SMS whilst driving! Needless to say I think he’s missing the point!
