EA MMA: Fighters Sign up

By: Jamie Pert | July 31, 2009 | 1 Comment

With Electronic Arts announcing that they would be developing a new mixed martial arts game, many believed that the biggest problem they would have was to get fighters to sign up, especially when UFC president Dana White threatened to blacklist any fighter who appears on EA MMA as it is direct competition of UFC’s popular game UFC Undisputed.

Well good news has emerged stating that three champions will now appear on EA Sports MMA they are Dream Middleweight Champion Gegard Mousasi and Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion Renato Sobral and finally Fedor Emelienenko who is the current WAMMA Heavyweight champion with a 30-1 record. Fedor said “I have fought all over the world and I am excited to be in EA Sports MMA because this game is going to show the global appeal of mixed martial arts,”.

Obviously part of the success of today’s games depends on the big names they get for the release, these names should help set the foundations for a real challenger to UFC Undisputed.

Yeah, I’m getting it simply because Fedor’s going to be in it. Name recognition will certainly get you buys in some regards.
