AAXA’s latest portable projector the pico-projector P2 has been unveiled, so far reports on the whole seem pretty good, however all of the pro’s are all outweighed by one big con, its battery life.
The P2 weighs 260 grams and measures in at 4.3inch x 2.3 inch x 1 inch. The projector supports a resolution of 800 x 600, and its brightness is 33 lumens (very good for a portable projector) also there is no need for cables and adapters as it supports direct VGA input, not only this but it has an onboard media player and has 1GB internal storage with a microSD card slot.
The contrast ratio is said to be1,000:1 and should allow an image with an 80 inch diagonal, its probable that a smaller diagonal would produce much better quality images. The device has a mini USB port which is also used for charging, the device also has a 3.5mm headphone socket.
With all these positives it is a shame that the rechargeable battery only lasts 35 minutes, which is likely to reduce over time, there are options for 70 and 180 minute batteries. However these will add more to its current $349 price tag, the unit is now available for pre-order.
