Nintendo Wii: Demand Finally Slowing
By: Jamie Pert | July 30, 2009 | Leave a CommentAccording to a report on NYTimes it seems that Nintendo are finally seeing a slow in the demand for its Nintendo Wii. This resulted in a 66 percent fall in their quarterly operating profit, this fall is not a huge surprise and it is thought that Nintendo were expecting a fall in sales.
Even with the slowing demand Nintendo still expect to sell 26 million Wii consoles before the end of the year, along with this they expect to sell 30 million DS handhelds. It is believed that the ever growing performance and popularity of the iPhone is responsible for the Nintendo DS’s decline in sales, as more and more people are using the iPhone for handheld gaming.
