Speed test results for Verizon Wireless

Recently BoyGeniusReport asked its readers who currently use Verizon Wireless to report their download and upload speeds, this follows the recent similar survey they ran on AT&T’s 3G network. During the test of AT&T’s 3G network the average download speed for a user was an impressive 933kbps, whereas the upload speed saw an unimpressive average of 180kbps.

The results are now in for the Verizon Wireless tests and they are as follows, average download speed 701 kbps, median download speed 440kbps, average upload speed 322kbps median upload speed 286kbps. As you can see when compared to AT&T’s 3G network download speeds were on average 232kbps slower, however even more shockingly the median download speed which is 400kbps slower than AT&T.

Not all is bad though as Verizon Wireless has better upload speeds then AT&T 3G which on average saw an increase of 142kbps or 79 percent. For full details on the tests and results checkout BoyGeniusReports.

Which wireless company would you choose? AT&T 3G’s superior download speeds or Verizon Wireless’ superior upload speeds? Myself I would choose AT&T’s 3G service as the median was so low for Verizon Wirless’ download speeds.
