Palm webOS: More Apps Incoming

Palm had offered us so much with the launch of the Pre, but new apps have been scarce just recently, leading to worries that Palm and its webOS was being abandoned by developers. However after weeks of waiting a few more apps have started to appear.

The Official Palm Blog is not getting its hopes up, even though more apps have been added to Palm’s App Catalog. There were rumors recently that the App Catalog would start to get some serious additions and it looks as though that rumor has started to bear fruit.

Some of the new apps added include, OpenTable and Fliq Bookmarks. OpenTable allows you to book yourself a table at a restaurant nearby. Fliq Bookmarks works with the Missing Sync, allowing you to transfer Safari bookmarks from your Mac to your Pre smartphone.

These two are not the best apps that we could have hoped for, but at least it is a start.

I need Pocket Informant in the worst way. I paid for it on my Palm 700 and got it for free on my Palm 755p. Specifically I need the 411 look-up feature that allowed me to acquire phone numbers. That feature made me money! It’s not compatible with the Classic app so I guess I’ll just hope, wait, and pray.

I’m sorry, it was called Pocket Express.
