Microsoft Office Online: Web app may be compromised
By: Daniel Chubb | July 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentWell according to the chaps over at Web Worker Daily it seems that the long awaited online version of Microsoft Office will not have a full feature set, but will just have a base set of features that compliment the existing office package and push it forward into the online apps market with others like Google Docs, but with the limited functionality it is now said to have, it may not look as desirable as it did when we reported about it back in October last year.
Microsoft Office Online will get rolled out in a technical preview later this summer, and although it may not be fantastic, and not contain all the features you need, we think it’s great that Microsoft is actually offering a service like this out there for free, all you need is a Windows Live account, and that’s really not much to ask considering. We can only hope that the service is a hit and gradually improves during it’s lifetime, it seems Microsoft is getting all soft and cuddly in its old age.
So what do you think of all this? Will you be trying it out when it eventually goes live? Is the whole project a waste of time? Let us know here at Product Reviews!
