Hands-on: Sony EyePet Beta
By: Peter Chubb | July 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentIt has now been more than a year since we first learned of EyePet, now Sony EyePet Beta is up and running on the PS3 and JoyStiq have said that their early skepticism was unjust and that they are now blown away at the originality of the concept.
EyePet is the first virtual pet simulator and will take advantage of the PlayStation Eye, which will also work with a “magic card.” You as the player will play with a virtual monkey that lives in a different reality. The TV will then display what the Eye will see, you and your body.
Your pet that appears on the screen will respond to your actions, you can do things such as grab your pet on the head, take a bowl of food and then feed it or play a range of mini-games. This certainly will prove popular with children. We will just have to sit and wait until the full version of Sony EyePet is released.
