You may have read our post at the beginning of the month which introduced us to Creative’s new Zii portable media players. At the time of that post details were extremely scarce however more details have now emerged.
Creative’s new Zii Egg aims to be to the G1 smartphone what the iPod Touch is to the iPhone. The Zii Egg will use Google’s Android OS and will have a 3.5 inch LCD multi touchscreen, it will support up to 64GB of storage with a SDHC card. Along with these already impressive features it will have GPS and WiFi and will be able to playback 1080p video.
Not only this but it will also support Flash Lite and record HD video with the camera on the back, along with a VGA camera on the front for video chat. A development kit has also been created which can be gained if you are willing to spend $399.
With these very impressive features and specifications this should be real competition the iPod Touch, as long as the Android front end can deliver the ease of use that the iPod Touch features.
