Cash for Clunkers: Trade-in guide for eligible vehicles
By: Peter Chubb | July 29, 2009 | Leave a CommentWe have been talking about the new Cash for Clunkers Program 2009 for a couple of days now, if there is one thing that is shared by dealers and customers, it is that the incentive is complicated. The Car Allowance Rebate System now has a Trade-in guide for eligible vehicles online.
While visiting the website you will be warned that your trade-in vehicle needs to be no more than 25-years old. So if you have a vehicle that was manufactured in 1984, then we are afraid that it might not meet the requirement.
If you have any doubts, then make certain that you check your manufacture date. If you trade your 1984 vehicle in the same month that it was manufactured or later this year, then you are still able to trade that vehicle in. If your vehicle was manufactured in June 1984, then we are afraid that your vehicle will not be eligible for Cash for Clunkers.
