This latest incentive from the government has been put in place in the hope of enticing car owners to trade in their older vehicles for a new more fuel-efficient model.

The official name for the Cash For Clunkers Program 2009 is Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS), and according to the Detroit Free Press, car dealers in the Detroit area have said that they are satisfied with the turnout of customers looking to purchase a new vehicle.
