John Killian, CFO of Verizon Wireless has said during the company’s Q2 conference call that they will have their own app store by the end of the year. We would assume that Verizon are already working hard and almost have the service ready, as they only have five months left in this year.
The announcement of the Verizon Wireless app store will be made official today at it’s first-ever Verizon Developer Community Conference, which is being held in San Jose. This conference will be centered on its development of new mobile applications.
Over recent weeks, Verizon has become more vocal about its intention of launching an app store, but most of the details have been held back for this conference. According to The Washington Post, one such detail that we still do not know is, which vendor will be helping Verizon mange its app store.
The network carrier could go it alone, but they could turn to its long-time partner, Qualcomm.
