Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort At Number One

It has been confirmed that Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort has entered the UK All-Formats chart at number one, beating Harry Potter and Tiger Woods in the process. We think everyone knew this would happen, following the huge success of the original game.

As reported from GamesIndustry, the new game comes bundled with Nintendo’s MotionPlus accessory and had no trouble claiming the top spot just after a week of being on sale.

Wii Sports Resort had the fourth biggest selling first week for a Wii game in history, with only Wii Fit, Mario Kart Wii and Mario & Sonic at the Olympics managing to sell more.

While all the talk is about Project Natal and the PS3 Motion Controller, it looks as if Nintendo are still the top dogs to beat. Full chart listings can be found over at GI.
