Google Voice apps gone from Apple App Store
By: Peter Chubb | July 28, 2009 | Leave a CommentApple has certainly made some controversial decisions when it comes to applications on its app store of late. IntoMobile has learned from SeanKovacs that the Apple has pulled the Google Voice services of the app store, something that has not pleased Google.
Apple has taken the service down as it duplicates the functionality that the new iPhone 3G S has. I do not understand that though, as Appleās own voice activation does not allow you to say what you wish to search for. However, it does manage your phone numbers, which Apple were not happy with.
Intomoble have a few thoughts as to why Apple pulled the app, one is that AT&T were not happy with its users making cheap calls on the iPhone via the Google app. They also mention that this would not be the first time that Apple has removed an app at the request of a carrier.
