RIM have now officially announced the launch of the BlackBerry Curve 8520, just seems strange, as we have known about this handset for months now. This has to be the worst kept secret from RIM ever. The Curve 8520 is also known as the Gemini.
The handset was first leaked back in May, RIM certainly needs to do something about its security, maybe they should take some pointers from Apple. The handset is a superb entry-level smartphone and will prove popular with consumers and business users.
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 has a 2.64-inch LCD screen and a 2-megapixel camera, not the greatest camera, but BlackBerry handsets have never been about taking photos. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 256MB internal memory and up to 32GB of expandable storage with the use of a microSDHC expansion slot.
