According to a report on electronista it seems that Acer’s AspireRevo nettop will soon be getting an upgrade. The original AspireRevo was the first PC to run NVIDIA’s ION platform and was originally released with a single-core Atom CPU running at 1.6Ghz, 2GB of RAM and 250GB of storage.
The new AspireRevo will also run NVIDIA’s ION platform, but will run a dual core Atom CPU running at 1.6Ghz, it will have 4GB of RAM and 320GB of storage. Apart fom that much of the rest is the same as its predecessor, it has built-in WiFi, HDMI output, six USB 2.0 ports and a 4 in 1 cardreader. The system will be running Windows Vista Home Premium.
The AspireRevo will be released sometime in August for a price of around $500. I am a little surprised they didn’t delay the launch of this nettop as it would benefit from running Windows 7 in my opinion, and also I feel people will not want to buy a Vista system with the release of Windows 7 so near.
