Usually the second quarter of the year is a slow time for game sales, however this year the second quarter has seen a huge amount of cross platform titles released, details on the Nintendo Wii and DS second quarter performance have not yet been released, we will update you as we find out more.
As previously mentioned the second quarter saw a lot of cross platform titles, these included Prototype, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Guitar Hero Smash Hits, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Fuel, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. With such a wide range of releases it is no wonder that sales exceeded expectations, Prototype is said to be the most popular of the cross platform games.
The second quarter has not seen many mentionable exclusive games to the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 saw a few exclusives, the only games worth mentioning really are inFAMOUS and Cross Edge. The Xbox 360 only really saw Ninja Blade and Velvet Assassin. Out of the above mentioned exclusives it seems that inFAMOUS was the game that stood out the most.
