Modern Warfare 2 PC Price Hike

Bad news for PC fans hoping to pick up Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2, as it has been revealed that Activision have ‘bumped’ up the price of the PC version to $60, making it a similar price to console versions.

As pointed out over at Beefjack, popular retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop all have the PC version of the game listed for $60. This is going to be something of a disappointment for many of you, who expected the PC version to be significantly cheaper than the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Its also known that there will be no prestige edition available for PC owners either, so it looks as if Activision has made a lot of enemies with their new prices.

    This is the same company that was moaning about the price of the PS3. They’ve got a bloody cheek.

    I don’t agree on the price hike for PC games because unlike console games we really can’t go out and trade in our old PC games, re-sale them, etc.

    I’ll end up getting this game once its been out for awhile and the price goes down.

    I hear about piracy all the time…and for all the reasons for piracy, price always seems to be one of the reasons. The american economy is failing, in a depression, people loosing jobs left and right…so do the one thing that makes sense…raise the price…

    I would barely pay $50 for a game, let alone $60. There will be many games released this year, I’m sure a lot of them a lot better than modern warfare 2.

    Activision is getting a little to cocky…they think they can put out a game, call it top notch and expect people to pay a higher price…are they taxing the poor, wheres robinhood when you need him…

    No 80 dollars night vision goggles will be any good. You can get NV goggles on your own for that kind of money but their range is less than 30 feet.[url=HTTP://MODERNWARFARE2FORUMS.NET]:geek:[/url]

    This is kindda unfair since not all gamers prefer consoles. As for me, I prefer PC games or MMORPG’s like WoW, Aion Online etc. If the PC version of Modern Warfare 2 is that expensive, I might as well wait for price to go down in a justifiable level.
