Back in 2008 Garmin and Asus announced the nüvifone, this smartphone is what they were planning to be a serious iPhone competitor, however what the Garmin-Asus partnership perhaps didn’t foresee is the huge growth that has taken place in the smartphone market within the last year.
Since the original announcement of the nüvifone its features have remained unchanged, this suggests that the handset could be seemingly out of date before it has even emerged on the market. Currently there are two versions of the handset planned for release, they are the nüvifone G60 which is the Linux power version and the nüvifone M20 which is the Windows Mobile powered version. From what we can see the handsets should be shipping within the next week or so.
