Palm has now released webOS 1.1 for its Pre Smartphone and the company now hopes that its new device will be more appealing to businesses. Palm webOS 1.1 offers a number of new additions to its support for Exchange ActiveSync, this is certain to please businesses and enterprise users.
Some of these features include improved certificate handling, PIN/password requirements, including remote wipe, inactivity timeout and much more. The Palm Pre webOS 1.1 update offers much more for consumers as well, such as support for emoticons while using the messaging app, person reminders in the contacts apps and much more.
The latest update still has a few more tricks up its sleeve, such as the re-enabling of Palm media sync. This means that Pre users will once again be able to have seamless access to their photos, music and movies from iTunes 8.2.1. According to The Official Palm Blog, the “’Pre’ and ‘business’ just got a lot friendlier.”
