Intel $1.45 Billion EU Antitrust Fine: Chip Maker Appeals

It was only a matter of time before chip maker Intel appealed against its $1.45 Billion EU Antitrust Fine. Back in May, Intel was fined by the European Union for what they called antitrust violations; a spokesperson for the chip maker has said that they will submit that this is against its human rights.

The European Convention ruled on May 13 that Intel passed secret rebates to computer manufacturers, while telling them that they had to limit or even exclude products from rival chip maker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

According to IT Channel News, Intel have come out fighting, saying that the EC has refused to look at certain evidence, in some cases Intel states that the EC even refused to get evidence that was made available to them. There are no more details on this as the court filings are locked and sealed.
