By: Jamie Pert | July 22, 2009 | Leave a CommentA report on Engadget says that direct video downloads for the PSP are now live in Japan, we first heard about this feature during this years E3, currently there is no official launch date for the service in the US and Europe, however as more details are revealed we will let you know.
The new service allows users to download videos direct to their PSP via WiFi without needing to hook it up to a PC or PlayStation 3, there isn’t yet a wide range of content currently offered, however this is to be expected until the service really takes off. Currently you can download an anime episode for the equivalent of $2, animated movies for $5.30 and animated movies in HD for $6.40, these downloaded videos can be transferred to the PS3.
