AMD second quarter net loss

By: Jamie Pert | July 22, 2009 | Leave a Comment

Following three consecutive quarterly losses AMD have now suffered another loss, this loss occurred during the second quarter of 2009. The good news however is that this loss is not as bad as the last, therefore they seem to be heading back on track.

During the first quarter of 2009 AMD suffered a net loss of $416 million, during the second quarter they suffered a net loss of $330 million, this follows a trend that many I.T related companies have seen lately and shows that perhaps the worst of the economic climate is behind them.

In the third quarter of this year AMD plan to build on its six-core Instanbul chip and also plan to release its low-power Neo chips along with its new Tigris platform, also with the release of Windows 7 high demand is for all chip manufacturers, check out ComputerWorld for full details.

Do you think AMD will see a net profit in q3 and q4 this year?
