Mozilla’s vice president Mike Shaver has released a statement to nullify the current rumors suggesting that a bug in Firefox 3.5 could be exploited, he said. “The reports by press and various security agencies have incorrectly indicated that this is an exploitable bug,” and “Our analysis indicates that it is not, and we have seen no example of exploitability.”
The bug currently causes crashes with Firefox 3.5 and 3.5.1 and can occur on Windows, Mac and Linux editions, according to some experts the crash on Mac OS X could be caused by a flaw in the Operating System’s ATSUI system library, this has not yet been 100% confirmed.
Mozilla are said to be releasing another update for Firefox 3.5.2, this update should be live in early August, and should fix this bug.
