Microsoft: Open Source Contributions
By: Jamie Pert | July 21, 2009 | Leave a CommentFollowing Microsoft’s recent contribution to the Linux community it now seems that they will be contributing more to the open source code market. For those of you who didn’t hear on Monday Microsoft contributed 20,000 lines of source code to the Linux operating system.
This may be an indication of a stronger relationship between Microsoft and Linux distributions, Sam Ramji who is Microsoft’s senior director of platform strategy recently said “Microsoft recognizes that heterogeneity is a business reality. Interoperability is the path to growth,” this statement seems to suggest that Microsoft recognize the importance of their contributions.
