
Intel: Quad-Core prices dropped
By: Jamie Pert | July 21, 2009 | Leave a CommentWith a launch imminent for Intels new Nehalem chip architecture they have now reduced the prices of some quad-core processors, the new Nehalem architecture allows the chips to execute more tasks whilst drawing less power.
The price reductions are for the core2quad series of chips which include the Q9300, Q9400, Q8300, Q8400 and the low-power Q9400/Q8400 all of the previously mentioned chips have seen an approximate price cut of between 11%-14%.
Intel also dropped the prices of their Celeron E5100 chips which dropped by 19%, this now allows you to buy the chip for $43, another chip which saw a huge discount was the Intel core2duo E7500, this chip saw a 15% discount which now allows you to buy it for $113.
