Kingston have now released a 256GB thumb drive, this is the latest in an ever expanding market of portable storage, apart from the storage capacity nothing else is different when compared to most of today’s thumb drives.
The drive has a maximum transfer rate of 20MB/sec read and a 10MB/sec write, the drive also supports Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost technology. The design is pretty standard too, however it’s slightly larger then most of today’s thumb drives, which is understandable.
The thumb drive is only available in Europe and the UK and is custom made when you order, currently the retail price is £565.67, which to be honest doesn’t seem to high considering I paid around £55 for a 256MB thumb drive 6-7 years ago, check out the original article on Engadget.
